[NA] Return To Bristia
T3Fun also made an announcement about Bristia update "soon". Based on the intro page, it seems we will be getting Heyran and Bristia Weapons.
After taking down Viscount Montoro, let's head back to the continent of Orpesia, where the defeated enemies of Vespanola, Bristia, lie. You will engage in a new main quest line and help out the Bristian Liberation Army in setting their homeland free from the clutches of the Vespanolans.

Please keep posted on our Forums and Announcement Boards for more information about this great upcoming new patch! Don't forget to check out the new introduction page that we made just for you!
Actually, the title is totally wrong. Because, although some NPC (e.g. Grace Bernelli) came from Bristia, the pioneer families themselves came from Vespanola, not Bristia. Chances are that the pioneer families have never been to Bristia, so it can't be considered a "return"... It should have been Orpesia (name of the old continent) instead.

Maintenance Patch Notes - Jan 23, 2013
Colony War will be starting every Sunday at 15:00 (EST)... which is kind of stupid, since the war usually lasts 2 hours and Alliance War starts every Sunday at 16:00 (EST). It seems like they are taking poll now however - see here.

It has been 2 weeks since the game launch, and still all equipment in the inventory and vault are blank instead of having their original enchantments. I have some mercenary warrants on another account, waiting to use the Master Cards and transfer the characters over, but it seems like there is a bug preventing anyone from employing mercenaries - see here. They had the entire week to work with, and could only fix Fighter's CON stat...

Special RedBana Pet
T3Fun is having a poll for an exclusive pet - bear, white wolf, or raptor (dinosaur).

Lyndon Box Event
T3Fun is launching Lyndon's Box, a cash-based roulette game. See here for how to play the game. The first will run from Jan 23 to Feb 06, 2013. It includes Crystal Weapons (AR34), Blue Serpent Armors (DR31), Impervium +7: Expert, and Character Cards - Cadet Adriana, Sharon, Grandies, Beatrice, and Ion.

Some players are not too happy about Cadet Adriana, since other localizations got her for free as an event reward. See Cadet Adriana Event Preview and Taiwan GE Update v10.6.0.

Introduced in v9.5, all Time Piece (aka Time Paradox) missions come in 2 versions - normal and broken. You can select which type in the room creation window. Broken Time Piece mission is easier, but rewards less crystals from its roulette.

This raid mission is mainly for collecting Strata Devil Weapon materials and for making Evil Weapons (ATK Rating 34) - blunt, sabre, great sword, crescent, or tonfa.

The following monster statistics are from Broken Time Paradox (v18.07.08). Bosses and mini-bosses in (Normal) Time Paradox tend to have more hit points (about 30-40% more) and ATK/DEF Rating.

It is also needed for Piece of Cortes (quest item) in Recruit Beatrice quests. You must be alive and near Stone Cortes when he dies to acquire the quest item.

Mission Information
Location: Viron (E7)
Frequency: 2/day
Duration: 60 minutes
Participants: 1-12
Entry Cost: Free (1/day), 200 Shiny Crystals (2/day)
Requirement: Must have [Time Crystal] Cortes quest to receive roulette reward

In v23.63.43, you can redo the mission by paying 200 Shiny Crystals. The maximum number of participants for Time Piece missions was reduced from 24 to 12.

The new North American edition of Granado Espada has been launched on Jan 09, 2013 (EST). There were some server hiccups from 20:00-22:00 (EST).

The game client can be downloaded here. If you chose the non-Torrent option to download, be sure to remove Pando Media Booster after installation as it has been known to leech bandwidths and induce lag - see here for details.

Post-Launch Issues
The game seems to just rip off the translations by IAHGames, using the localized item/map/character names for Singapore servers. For example, Glazium (aka Polish/Abrasive), Sacred Chaos Requiem (Caebolan/Sedecram), Port of Bahia (Port of Gigante), Feng Ling (Soso), etc. Sigh. Can't they just use the default names with some corrections for grammar/spelling? Don't try to fix what isn't broken.

Currently, all equipment in the inventory/vault have blank enchantment, even those items that come with fixed enchantments (e.g. Tracking Boots). Also, some items (e.g. White Santa Hat) displayed error for icons in the item details. I expect they will fix this soon - best not to re-enchant anything just yet.

I heard there was some issues with trade lock as well. Meanwhile, the official forum seems to be down...

Version 10.7.0 introduced 4 new weekly missions - Trinity Elemental Force, Endless Greed, Joaquin Basement Passage, and Way of Avernus.

Mission Information
Location: Porto Bello Deserted Quay (F3)
Participants: 1-12 families (MCC3)
Entry Cost: 1 Key [Trinity Elemental Force] and 5,000 reputation points
Frequency: 1/week
Duration: 60 minutes

The key can be acquired from Federigo in Auch (I9) with 1 Hell Valley Key and 1 Pure Otite. Hell Valley Keys are dropped by Ghost Barons in El Ruina de Memoria and El Canon de Diabolica. Pure Otites are rewards for undead hunting quests from Gloomy Old Man in Los Toldos.

A tank (e.g. Coimbra Trooper) is recommended. You are also advised to bring Lisa to inflict [Magic Break] status, and any [Darkness] user (e.g. Emilia) to inflict [Whole Cancellation] status. Damage dealers are mainly the elementalist-type characters.

Introduced in v9.5, all Time Piece (aka Time Paradox) missions come in 2 versions - normal and broken. You can select which type in the room creation window. Broken Time Piece mission is easier, but rewards less crystals from its roulette.

This raid mission is mainly for collecting Strata Devil Weapon materials and for making Evil Weapons (ATK Rating 34) - fire bracelet, ice bracelet, lightning bracelet, and elemental bracelet.

The following monster statistics are from (Normal) Time Paradox (v18.07.08). Bosses and mini-bosses in (Normal) Time Paradox tend to have more hit points (about 30-40% more) and ATK/DEF Rating. It is also needed for Piece of Nephthys (quest item) in Recruit Beatrice quests. You must be alive and near the boss when he dies to acquire the quest item.

Mission Information

Countdown To Launch!

If you just want to plunge into this new game, see Quick Start guide to take your first steps into the new world, covering family/character creation, keyboard help, in-game tutorials, and the starting quests.

So you have taken your steps into Granado Espada. Have you wondered about what came before? What are the events that transpired to bring you to the New World, set the nations against each other, and affected the various NPCs in the game? See Background Story for a quick review of the narrative setting.

The game is controlled by various commands, most of which are accessible via the main menu located at the top of the screen. See Main Menu for a list of functions and commands.

Granado Espada Online has a progressive story, driven by different scenario quests. Many characters will also join your family if you completed their recruitment quests. See Quests labelled posts for related articles, including selected character recruitment and scenario quests.

The game also offers many repeatable quests, ensuring that you will never run out of things to do. One of the major quest revisions for v10.23 is the replacement of pioneering memorials by the new pioneer merchant houses. See Pioneer Merchants for more details on what the merchant houses offer!

Granado Espada Online features many raids. A list is available in one of the Main Menu commands. There are 2 main types:
  • Field Raids are raids which are located in open zones, thus subject to inter-player competition.
  • Raid Missions are raids in which each group of raiders create their own rooms to raid independently of each other.
One of the major raid revision of v10.23 is the addition of new missions and relocation of old ones in Coimbra Nimrod Bridge. See Coimbra Bridge Missions for a complete list of missions.

See also Missions & Raids labelled posts for other raid-related articles.

Granado Espada Online features many events regularly, such as:
  • Colony War, where you can fight with other players to enable your party (aka clan) to occupy territories.
  • World PvP, where you can fight with other players from any active server in special rooms individually or as a team.
  • Legion War, where you can join either the Royalists or Republicans to fight both players and NPCs in the major cities.
  • Castilla Treasure Hunt, where you can search for hidden treasure chests in Castilla Ruins and Castilla Temple.
There are also festive in-game events, such as Halloween and Christmas, to spread seasonal moods and interests. See Events labelled posts for related articles.

Once you have downloaded and installed the game client (see Game Download if you haven't), you can start the game client from the shortcut icon on your desktop. Granado Espada Online is set in the New World, a newly discovered land away from the old hub of civilization. The back-drop is similar to the founding of America by Christopher Columbus during the Age of Discovery. See History of Granado Espada for a more detailed timeline of game events.

Discovery of the New World
Around 70 years ago, the nation of Opoluto was in economic recession due to its trade with the nation of Katai being cut off by Targa. In response, Ferruccio Espada and his assistant, Gilberto Granado, sought a new oceanic trade route across the Dark Sea to the West.

After 5 years, they finally reached an unknown land and named it Granado Espada. The new land is home to exotic species of plants and animals. Ancient ruins littered the continent. His home country, Opoluto, saw the potential of the land and began development of the New World, building the first port called Porto Bello, which was later replaced by Port of Coimbra.

Three-Year War
However, Opoluto over-extended its funding and was faced with bankruptcy. Another nation, Vespanola, cleared the national debts and annexed Opoluto and its holdings in the New World. The people of Vespanola began to migrate to Granado Espada.

The Three-Year War soon began between Bristia and Vespanola. The supplies to the New World ceased, halting all pioneering efforts. Eventually, Vespanola's Red Navy miraculously defeated the more powerful Bristia's fleet, ending the war in Vespanola's victory.

Reconquista Policy
To deal with the social problems caused by the war nobles in Vespanola, Queen Esperanza initiated the Reconquista Policy, sending them over to the New World. Thus, came the new wave of pioneers, seeking wealth, fame, and honor in the New World of Granado Espada!

First introduced in v9.0.2, the pioneering merchants are the new replacements for pioneering memorials. Since the secret of the old pioneering memorials have been exposed by the Witches of Bahama, three merchant houses have taken over the operations of pioneering. The merchant houses and the equipment they trade in are:

  1. Vent Nuar ("Black Wind") - melee equipment
  2. Magia Gremio ("Magic Guild") - magic equipment
  3. Tempestar di Savia ("Desert Storm") - shooting equipment
Note: This post is compiled from various versions, so some sections may be slightly different depending on what client version you are using. For example, if you don't see the Test Application item for the next rank even after having enough favor rate, chances are that the next rank is not available in your current version.

Pioneer Merchant Information
You can access Pioneer Merchant Information window via the main menu or the hot-key (Ctrl + Shift + M).

For each merchant, there are 3 main concepts to track - (shop) points, favor rate, and rank. (Shop) Points are used to buy items from the Pioneer Merchant shops. Favor Rate is required to unlock higher-end items in the shops. Rank determines your shop content and your daily (shop) points limit.

Rank Point Limit Shop - Favor Test - Seal Test - Points
F 10 0 - -
D 20 1,000 1 100
C 30 2,000 50 500
B 40 5,000 100 1,000
A 50 10,000 200 2,000
S ? ? ? 18,000

Point Limit column refers to the maximum (shop) points you can acquire per day. Shop - Favor column refers to how much favor rate you must have to unlock shop items once you acheived that rank. The two Test columns refer to how many Lv.9 Pioneer Seals and (shop) points are needed to buy the Test Application item for the given rank.

Pioneer Merchant - Field NPC
In most field maps (excluding premium dungeons), there are pioneer merchants offering repeatable monster hunt quests. Completing a hunt quest will grant you favor rate and (shop) points for the chosen merchant. However, the other 2 merchants will be unhappy with you for assisting their rivals, thus resulting in a loss of favor rates. In v10.19.0, the amount of favor gained/lost depends on the map level.

Zone Level
Sample Zones
Favor - Selected
Favor - Others
Al Quelt Moreza, Tetra Ruins
Porto Bello, Torsche's Mansion
Prison de Joaquin, Ustiur
Bahama, Katovic, Abertal

There is a limit to how many (shop) points you can gain per day for each merchant. (This is denoted as "Today's Points" in Pioneer Merchant Information window.) At the lowest rank of F, you are limited to 10 (shop) points per day. This limit increases as your rank advances (see Table 1 above).

Urgent Supply Requests
Every day, there will be urgent supply requests for specific maps. You can open a warp gate directly to the map by selecting the desired request in Pioneer Merchant Information window (Ctrl + Shift + M) and clicking the [Move To Location] button (which consumes 1 Warp Scroll). If you complete a monster hunt on the map specified by the request, you will get a bonus reward. There are 3 types of rewards:
  1. [P] This urgent request grants bonus (shop) points for the specified (random) merchant.
  2. [♥] This urgent request grants bonus favor rate for the specified (random) merchant.
  3. [░] This urgent request grants bonus EXP Cards, Honor Cards, or Training Cards.
For [P] and [♥] requests, the bonus is for the specified merchant even if you complete the quest for a different merchant. The daily limit for (shop) points does not apply to the bonus for [P] requests. You must be at least family level 20 to have the urgent request which grants Training Cards. You can see the bonus amount, merchant, and/or card type by moving your mouse over the respective icons.

Normally, you can only get the bonus reward for each urgent request once per day. If you have Home Premium Service (aka Explorer Pack), you can redo the quest to get one additional bonus reward for each urgent request.

Pioneer Merchant Shop
Each pioneer merchant house has a town NPC, which offers shop access and rank promotion test. To use a pioneer shop, your favor rate must be at least 0 for that specific merchant house. To buy the merchandise, you need to spend (shop) points plus either Lv.9 Pioneer Seals or Elemental Jewels (depending on item).

The shops sell Lv.96 Elite Trump Weapons, EXP Cards, Veteran Polish, Shiny Crystal Chest, Portable Ancient Star Orb Box, as well as various Pioneer Rank Test Applications. As your rank and favor rate increases, more items will become available in the shops. For the full shop list sorted by ranks, see 商店/開拓商店 (Jap) - however, do note that this list is probably from a higher game version. In later version, there will also be cards that increase favor rate for the specific merchant.

Among the various items, the more coveted ones are the Recipes - Enhanced Will of Argus (Magia), Enhanced Hope of Argus (Vent), and Enhanced Jormungand Belt (Tempestar). These recipes will be available in the shops when you have achieved Rank B and accumulated 5,000 favor rate. In v10.20.2, there will also be recipes for enhanced versions of the new accessories (e.g. Shadow of the Abyss).

Rank Promotion
You start with Rank F for all merchants. To advance in ranks, you must purchase the respective Pioneer Rank Test Application from the pioneer shop (see above) in towns. The test application items are all the same. Thus, you may buy the test application from one merchant (e.g. Magia) to take the test for a different merchant (e.g. Tempestar), provided it is of the appropriate rank.

Then, talk to the pioneer merchant town NPC to start a special mission for the test. If you complete the mission, you advance to the next rank. The various ranks are: F > D > C > B > A > S. See Pioneer Merchant Rank Tests for mission details.
