Leader of New Era Episode 2 Scenario

This scenario was added in v25.04.52. You need the following items:

• Old Journal 4 x300 (x100 in v26.65.40)
• Old Journal 5 x300 (x100 in v26.65.40)
• Old Journal 6 x300 (x100 in v26.65.40)
• Ice Crystal x450
• Great Clear Rum x10
• Ice Stone x100
• Strange Clock Equipment x10

This guide has been updated according to American game client (v26.60.82). In v26.65.40 , this quest will be made easier by reducing amount of quest items or improving their drop rates.

Synopsis :

Dr. Torsche was surprised to learn the Truman was in Viron instead of Illier and that he was involved with the Stratavista member, L. He wanted Ion to protect the Catherine sisters who were also in Viron.

Lynn informed you that L visited the lab of Truman, who was a mechanical engineer and a Stratavista member. Ion revealed that Truman had kidnapped Catherine and injured Catherine Torsche. Truman was not on good terms with Archduke Felipe, so Ion was injured as well.

After Mary treated Catherine Torsche's wounds, Dr. Torsche tried to stop the latter from going to rescue her sister. After you beat the crap out of Taikbin and bribed the guard, you learnt that Truman took Catherine to the Clock Tower Basement. Lynn wanted to go to her master after finding out her location. Ulrik also revealed that Truman had an inferiority complex to Dr. Torsche. And so, you accompanied Catherine Torsche, Mary, Lynn, and Viki to the Clock Tower Basement.

After getting lost, you consulted with Dr. Torsche, who invented the maze and gave you a strange navigation device. In his secret lab, Truman said that Portero was not a legacy of the ancients, but rather his own creation. Montoro simply found one by accident. He ripped Catherine's power source for Evil Machina, the mankind destroyer that Stratavista hoped to control mankind. Evil overcame everyone, Lynn escaped with you in tow, along with the blueprint for Evil.

Dr. Torsche revealed that the otite film covering Evil could only be suppressed by the Focused Magic Cannon. Back in the lab, Lynn disobeyed L's command to return the blueprint. L asked Truman to kill everyone. Kevin's personality awoke in Evil, and Truman retreated to reset Evil's internal logic.

Since the otite bomb inside Evil will explode if Evil is destroyed, Catherine Torsche took Ion to freeze Evil. As Kevin reawakened in Evil, L deemed the doll to be a failure and returned to Lucifer Castle. Truman decided to return to Machine Island, which was near Viron.

To remove the power source safely from Evil, Ion used catalysts to freeze it. You took the doll's heart from Evil and replaced it in Catherine, who woke up with Kevin's memories. Evil was happy to rest as he did not want to kill people.

You searched the lab and found the crest of Marquis Hernandez and some mysterious codes. After Dr. Torsche decoded them, you learnt that Truman was in Machine Isle to invent a weapon to control mankind. Its prototypes were Portero and Auto Baron.

Back in the basement, Beatrice said that her investigation on L was almost complete, and that she was doing it all for M'Boma. And so you decided to investigate L and the missing Pharrel first...

[120] Tears of Doll: Wheel of Destiny
Prerequisites: Completed Leader of New Era Episode 1 scenario.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Trigger quest mail by moving to any town.
2. Talk to Lynn in Lucifer Castle Hall of Oblivion (C9).
3. Talk to Ulrik in Viki's Hut via El Tejado Verde (G3).
4. Talk to Ion in Viron (E10).
5. Collect Old Journal 4 x300, Old Journal 5 x300, and Old Journal 6 x300.
• These items are common drops in Abertal, Via Fluvial, and Deprimida Valley.
• In v26.65.40, this will be reduced to 100 each.
6. Talk to Ion in Viron (E10) to give the above items.
7. Talk to Lynn in Lucifer Castle Hall of Oblivion (C9).
8. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) for reward.
9. Talk to Ion in Viron (E10) to start a non-combat mission ("Kidnapped Catherine").

Prerequisites: Completed the quests above.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6).
2. Collect the following items:
• Ice Crystal x250 - monster drop in Katovic Snowfield and Frozen Plain.
• Great Clear Rum x10 - Lv.1 Mixture in Farm, using Great Golden Apple x5 (or Great Cabosse x5) + Honey x5.
3. Talk to Mary in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (B3) to give her the above items.
4. Trigger a combat mission ("A Heartless Father", 30 minutes) in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C2/D2).
• Protect Catherine Torsche as she fights with you.
• Defeat the 2 waves of Lady Sasha, Reg, and Crown Lloyd (Lifeless AR/DR 67).
• Defeat Mighty Victor.
5. Trigger a quest dialogue in Dr. Torsche's Mansion Savage Garden (H6).
6. Talk to Taikbin in Viron (G5) to start a combat mission ("Riposte of Taikbin", 30 minutes).
• Defeat Taikbin.
• Tip: Use Escape Artist skill to undo Taikbin's invisibility.
• Tip: Use area damage skills to clear the summoned monsters.
7. Talk to Taikbin in Viron (G5) for reward.

Prerequisites: Completed the quests above.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Talk to Clock Tower Gate Keeper in Viron (F8).
2. Collect Queen of Valyrie's Tiara (quest item) x3 by defeating the 3 forms of Queen of Valkyries (100%) in Castilla Tower of Chaos mission.
• Alternatively, you can pay 3 Growth Stones (100,000 Feso each) instead.
• In v26.65.40, this will be reduced to 1 quest item or 1 Growth Stone.
3. Talk to Clock Tower Gate Keeper in Viron (F8) to give the above items.
4. Talk to Lynn in Lucifer Castle Hall of Oblivion (C9).
5. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6).
6. Talk to Ulrik in Viki's Hut via El Tejado Verde (G3) to receive reward.
• Note: This part will unlock access to Clock Tower Basement Lobby. You may now enter the lobby from the Clock Tower entrance in Viron (F8).

[120] Tears of Doll: Secret Workshop
Prerequisites: Completed the quests above.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Trigger a quest dialogue in Clock Tower Basement Lobby (F4).
2. Move to Truman's Secret Workshop B1F by using the Elevator Controller in Clock Tower Basement Lobby (F4).
• Select the 2nd option: "Pull the lever of [3ZVW]."
3. Operate the Elevator Actuator 5 times to enter 5 different rooms in Truman's Secret Workshop B1F.
• Each time you enter a new room, your character will say something in the chat window: "Where is Truman?", "Something's not right...", "Is this another place?", "I do not think so...", and "I think we're lost."
• In v26.65.40, you only need to do this 3 times.
• Tip: For this part, you do not need to kill normal monsters to charge up the actuator. Simply kill Shining Machina of Truman, click on the actuator, and enter the elevator spot.
4. Trigger a quest dialogue by operating the Elevator Actuator and entering the elevator spot another time in any room of Truman's Secret Workshop B1F. 
5. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6).
6. Collect Strange Clock Equipment x10, Strange Cogwheel x10, and Strange Tube x10.
• These items are dropped by various monsters in Dr. Torsche's Mansion Annex.
7. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) to receive reward.
8. Move into the activated elevator in the 12th room (marked by the symbol +) of Truman's Secret Workshop B1F to start a combat mission ("Tears of Catherine", 30 minutes).
• Defeat Time & Space Portero and Auto Baron. Lynn will help you.
• See section below for more information on moving through Truman's Secret Workshop.
• After the mission, you will be moved back to Clock Tower Basement Lobby.

2. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) to receive reward (a).
3. Move into the activated elevator in the 12th room (marked by the symbol +) of Truman's Secret Workshop B1F to start a combat mission ("Mankind Destroyer", 30 minutes).
• Defeat Evil. Lynn will help you.
• Tip: Use Magic Sphere of Focused Magic Cannon (expendable item) near Evil (in melee range) to reduce his DEF Rating to 72 for 5 minutes.
• Tip: Evil can inflict Sleep status.
4. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) to receive reward (b).
5. Talk to Ion in Viron (F10).

[120] Mankind Destroyer: Failure In Control
Prerequisites: Died in the combat mission ("Mankind Destroyer") of the above quest.
Reward: Magic Sphere of Focused Magic Cannon x1.

1. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6). 
2. Collect Mega Talt x20. These items are dropped by various zone bosses as well as in Castilla Mine/Relic/Tower of Chaos missions.
3. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) to give the above items and receive reward.

[120] Tears of Doll: Dolls Can't Cry
Prerequisites: Completed Resurrection, Mankind Destroyer quest above.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Move into the activated elevator in the 12th room (marked by the symbol +) of Truman's Secret Workshop B1F to start a non-combat mission ("Dolls Can't Cry").
• After this mission, you can return to Truman's Secret Lab directly by using the 3rd option of the Elevator Controller in Clock Tower Basement Lobby: "Pull the lever of [71A3]."
2. Talk to Evil in Truman's Secret Lab (F9/G9).
3. Collect Ice Crystal x200, which is dropped by monsters in Katovic Snowfield or Frozen Plain.
4. Talk to Evil in Truman's Secret Lab (F9/G9) to give him the above items.
5. Collect Ice Stone x100. 
• Ice Stones can be created by the alchemist in City of Auch by giving her the requested materials. 
• Alternatively, they can be acquired randomly via Alchemy Grade 2-8. 
• You can also buy them for 138,000 Vis from Clique Battle Support Merchant in Clique Battle Barracks.
6. Talk to Evil in Truman's Secret Lab (F9/G9) to give him the above items and receive reward.
7. Trigger a quest dialogue in Truman's Secret Lab (E3).

Prerequisites: Completed the quests above.
Reward: Story Book - Evil & Kevin x1.

1. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6).
2. Trigger a quest dialogue in Clock Tower Basement Lobby (F4/G4).
3. Talk to Dr. Torsche in Dr. Torsche's Laboratory (C6) to receive reward.
4. Talk to Lynn in Lucifer Castle Hall of Oblivion (C9).

Note: This completes the scenario, and is followed by Recruit Evil quests and Leader of New Era Final Episode scenario.

NAVIGATING TRUMAN'S SECRET WORKSHOP
Once you completed Whereabouts of Her Sister quest (see above), you may enter Clock Tower Basement Lobby from the Clock Tower entrance in Viron (F8). The Elevator Controller (F4) provides you with 3 options:

1. Pull the lever of [+1X3] = Go to Viron ("Exit").
2. Pull the lever of [3ZVW] = Go to Truman's Secret Workshop B1F ("Maze").
3. Pull the lever of [71A3] = Go to Truman's Secret Lab ("Evil").

The lever labels are basically words in horizontal and vertical flips. (Figure it out yet?) The 3rd option (Truman's Secret Lab) does not function until you completed the "Dolls Can't Cry" non-combat mission (see above). Choosing the 2nd option will bring you to the 1st room in Truman's Secret Workshop B1F.

There are 12 rooms in Truman's Secret Workshop B1F. In the 1st room, a sign tells you what must be done to clear the maze:

1. Click on the Elevator Actuator to see the room symbol, amount of charges required ("Targeted Electric Power"), and the current amount of charges ("Currently Charged").
2. Kill monsters to increase the charge until it reaches the required amount.
• Kill Candler of Truman = +1 charge
• Kill Steamer of Truman = +2 charges
• Kill Tendercore of Truman = +3 charges
3. Kill Shining Machina of Truman to prepare the Elevator Actuator for activation.
4. Click on the Elevator Actuator, which will say: "Operate the magically engineered elevator."
5. Move into the elevator spot (i.e. the alcove behind the Elevator Actuator). When it is active, a magic circle will blink on the spot.

If you do it correctly, the above steps will move you 1 room (or rarely, 2 rooms) down. So if you are in the 3rd (#) room, it will move you to the 4th ($) or 5th (%) room.

If you activate the elevator when the charge is below the required amount, entering the elevator spot will move you to an upper room instead. If you accidentally killed Shining Machina of Truman before meeting the required charge, click on the Elevator Actuator, but do NOT move into the elevator spot. This will reset the charge to 0. Start charging up again and wait for Shining Machina of Truman to respawn.

Each Elevator Actuator will tell you the room symbol, which is actually the uppercase character of numbers on the standard keyboard. In the 1st room, no charge is required, so you can just kill Shining Machina of Truman directly.

To reach B2F (or the various quest missions above), you must use the elevator in the 12th room (i.e. the room with the symbol +).

Truman's Secret Workshop B2F is a repetition of B1F, except that the 12th room will lead to Truman's Secret Lab instead. Note that there are actually 2 different maps named Truman's Secret Lab. The lab accessed from Truman's Secret Workshop B2F leads to the field raid boss Evil. The other lab is accessed from the Elevator Controller (3rd option) in Clock Tower Basement Lobby; it leads to NPC Evil for related quests.
