Recruit Kurt/Edward

Recruit Kurt/Edward quests were added in v2.1.18. This guide is based on USA game client v29.99.94. See Patch Notes for later changes (if any). You will need the following items:

• Shiny Crystal x1150
• Pure Otite x10
• Otite Perfume or Baron Lv.1+
• Wheel of Destiny

Talk to Mamons in Porto Bello Deserted Quay (E3) to enter Los Toldos. You must have at least Baron Lv.1 or an active Otite Perfume, which can be purchased from Feso Shop for 10,000 feso or acquired from Grade 8-9 Alchemy.

Kurt overpowers you and tells you to meet with his best scout, Edward. A pouch of the undead chief contains otite, which is the source of Montoro's power. Montoro visits an abandoned village swarming with the undead, but is driven off by Kurt and Edward. Edward is revealed to be a failed experiment of Montoro.

As the adopted son of Sir Hugo Lyndon, Kurt commanded Lyndon's army during the Three-Years War, but he realized that Lyndon did not care for plight of common soldiers. When he tries to ambush Lyndon by luring him with the otite pouch, Edward betrays him, revealing himself to be a servant since he was rescued by Lyndon during the Three-Years War. Edward considers his debt cleared and just wants his lost memories back. They send you to try to kill each other, then one of them decides to join you to find Ferruccio's legacy…

[100] Wheel of Destiny
Prerequisites: None.
Reward: EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140.

1. Talk to Kurt (aka Nameless Person) in Los Toldos (B5) to receive quest mail.
• You must have Wheel of Destiny equipped whenever you talk to Kurt/Edward to proceed with these quests.
• Wheel of Destiny (1 day) can be purchased from Feso Shop for 100,000 feso.
• You can also get permanent Wheel of Destiny with Baron Lv.5. See Baron System for details.
2. Kill Cursed Undead Soldier x10 and Cursed Undead Gunner x10 in Tierra de los Muertos.
• Talk to Gloomy Old Man in Los Toldos (K8) to enter Tierra de los Muertos. Each entry costs Shiny Crystal x100. You can choose your entry point—entrance (K8), ruined town (G7), or hill with old tree (D4).
3. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to receive reward and start a combat mission ("The Power of the Nameless Person", 10 minutes).
• Let Kurt (AR/DR 267) defeat you.

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to receive Certificate of Baron (quest item).

[100] The Best of the Barons
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to start a combat mission ("Attack of Muertos", 5 minutes).
• Defeat all the Muertos monsters (AR/DR 50 Undead). Edward (AR/DR 53) will help you.
• Hiding Place is a non-combat mission (30 minutes) accessible by clicking on Old Tombstone in Tierra de los Muertos (E3).
2. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to give Certificate of Baron (quest item) and receive Letter of Edward (quest item).

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140.

1. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to give Letter of Edward (quest item) and receive reward.

[100] Vanquish the Muertos Chief
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation +140.

1. Collect Pouch of Muertos Chief (quest item) x1 by killing Muertos Chief (100%) in Tierra de los Muertos (G9).
• Muertos Chief respawns in 21 minutes after death.
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) for reward.

[100] Investigate Tierra de los Muertos
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: Invisible Potion x5, EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140.

1. Collect the following quest items in Tierra de los Muertos.
• Burnt Memo x1: Click on Woodpile in Tierra de los Muertos (G6).
• Old Letter x1: Click on Cask in Tierra de los Muertos (F7).
• Memo Piece x1: Click on Broken Box in Tierra de los Muertos (G6).
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to give the above items and receive reward.

[100] Master of Muertos
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: Invisible Potion x5, EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140.

1. Start a combat mission ("Master of Muertos", 10 minutes) in Tierra de los Muertos (B6). You must be invisble (via Invisible Potion or Invisible Stalker skill) to start the mission.
• Defeat Montoro (AR/DR 52 Undead). Some Muertos monsters (AR/DR 51 Undead) will help him.
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) for reward.

[100] Counterattack
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: Reputation Points +140.

1. Start a combat mission ("Counterattack", 10 minutes) in Tierra de los Muertos (B6). You must be invisble (via Invisible Potion or Invisible Stalker skill) to start the mission.
• Defeat Montoro (AR/DR 57 Undead). Kurt and Edward (AR/DR 54) will help you.
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) for reward.

[100] Pure Otite Collection
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140.

1. Collect Pure Otite x10. See Cursed Undead Hunt repeatable quest below.
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to give the above items and receive Secret Letter of Nameless Person (quest item) and reward.

[100] Secret Letter of Nameless Person
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.
Reward: Reputation Points +140.

1. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to give Secret Letter of Nameless Person (quest item) and receive Secret Letter of Edward (quest item).
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to give Secret Letter of Edward (quest item) and receive Otite Pouch (quest item).

[100] Kill Lyndon
Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Start a non-combat mission ("Betray") in Tierra de los Muertos (G7).
• You will be moved back to Tierra de los Muertos (G7) after the mission.
• At this point, you must decide whether you want to recruit Kurt or Edward. You can only recruit one of them.

[100] Suggestion from Kurt
Prerequisites: Completed Kill Lyndon quest above, cannot have Suggestion of Edward quest.
Reward: (a) EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140; (b) Kurt Character Card, EXP Card G71 x3.

1. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to receive quest mail.
2. Click on Old Tombstone in Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to start a combat mission ("Suggestion from Kurt", 10 minutes).
• Defeat Edward (AR/DR 59 Human) or let him defeat you.
3. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to receive reward (a).
4. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to give Shiny Crystal x250 and Otite Pouch (quest item) and receive reward (b).

[100] Suggestion from Edward
Prerequisites: Completed Kill Lyndon quest above, cannot have Suggestion of Kurt quest.
Reward: (a) EXP Card G71 x3, Reputation Points +140; (b) Edward Character Card, EXP Card G71 x3.

1. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to receive quest mail.
2. Talk to Kurt in Los Toldos (B5) to start a combat mission ("Suggestion from Edward", 10 minutes).
• Defeat Kurt (AR/DR 59 Human) or let him defeat you.
3. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to receive reward (a).
4. Talk to Edward in Hiding Place via Tierra de los Muertos (E3) to give Shiny Crystal x250 and Otite Pouch (quest item) and receive reward (b).

Recruiting Kurt/Edward unlocks Lv.92 Elite Weapon Shop available at the Gloomy Old Man.

[Repeat] Cursed Undead Hunt
Prerequisites: Completed Counterattack quest above.
Reward: Pure Otite x1-5.

1. Talk to Gloomy Old Man in Los Toldos (K8) to receive quest.
2. Collect Refined Otite (quest item) x100 by killing Cursed Undead Soldier/Gunner (AR/DR 50) in Tierra de los Muertos.
3. Talk to Gloomy Old Man in Los Toldos (K8) to give the above items and receive reward.
