The Symphonia Episode 2-1 Scenario

The Die Is Cast scenario quests were added in v26.32.48. This quest guide is based on American game client (v26.60.82). In v27.56.86, this quest will be made easier by reducing amount of quest items or improving their drop rates.

You must have Panfilo (or Battle Cook Panfilo) to initiate some NPC dialogues. You will need the following items:

Synopsis :

Leona informs you that Stratavista is not behind the Talos disturbance. The mysterious stranger has power comparable to Hernandez. Stratavista sends Jurgen to recruit this stranger. You learn that Lynn adores Dietrich and is jealous of her sister. Their father favors Dietrich, who becomes the royal guard commander. After a duel when Lynn was ten, they have been in conflict ever since.

Monblant Bethel wants to demolish Bernier Mansion for urban development. A fight broke out, which Dietrich resolves with words. Lynn is depressed, even after beating up Panfilo, who admired his brother who died during the Illier-Targa War. The cook makes a dish with his late brother's recipe to cheer Lynn up.

Dietrich confesses to sympathizing with the former archon Machia, who sacrificed himself for Illier, yet caused the Targa War. After the duel, Lynn and Amy send you to investigate unknown monsters in the Great Plain, which turned out to be Jurgen's army. Jurgen says Stratavista wants to eliminate the Dark Soul and warns you to stay away from the mansion.

Amy confronts Duke Bethel since Dietrich is missing after investigating the Great Plain. After suppressing the vanguards, you find some bloodstained insignia, suggesting Dietrich killed the bearers. Since you are of neither Patrician nor Evora cliques, you must find Dietrich.

After overcoming some golems from Viron Clock Tower, you enter the mansion and fight Jurgen, while the Dark Soul somehow controls Dietrich. Hamaan says that Dietrich is possessed by the distorted power of the stars, and she uses the constellation symbols to make an energy sphere to break Dietrich's twisted stellar connection.

You free Dietrich from her possession, and break through the barrier inside the mansion. But Bethel arrives and prepares to execute Dietrich for killing the vanguards. Lynn returns with a message from the archon, who wants to hear Dietrich's side of the story.

Dietrich wants to lead the Herbert Knights to capture Bethel, but Lynn stops her. After a trial, Dietrich is deemed innocent and is placed under probation. She is also required to compensate the bereaved, so you asked Leona for help. To keep the nobles of Vespanola quiet, Leona needs some items of the New Continent. A civil war seems to be brewing. Leona will stay and watch the situation in Illier...

Prerequisites: Completed The Symphonia Episode 1 Scenario.
Reward: Expert G EXP Card x10.

1. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2).
2. Talk to Assistant Valtor in Bethel (D3).
3. Collect Snake Flower Leaf (quest item) x200 and Gold Piece of Golden Honeycomb (quest item) x200 by killing Snake Flower (33%) and Golden Honeycomb (33%) in Bahama Prophet's Forest.
• In v27.56.86, the amount will be reduced to 100 each.
4. Talk to Assistant Valtor in Bethel (D3) for reward.
5. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2) to start a combat mission ("The Vanguard vs Leona", 10 minutes).
• Defeat 8 Elite Illier Soldiers.
• Leona and Lynn will fight with you. Leona must remain alive.
• Tip: Leona will not survive long. Use area attacks to take them out quickly.
6. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2).

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Talk to Lynn in Bethel (D2).
2. Talk to Lynn in Bethel (D2) again. Panfilo (or Battle Cook Panfilo) must be in the team.
3. Talk to Panfilo in Cite de Reboldoeux (D10).
4. Collect Bethel Boar Haunch (quest item) x500 by killing Great Plain Boar (50%) in Bethel Great Plain.
• In v27.56.86, the amount will be reduced to 100.
5. Talk to Panfilo in Cite de Reboldoeux (D10) to give him the quest items.
6. Talk to Lynn in Bethel (D2).
7. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2).
8. Trigger a combat mission ("Herbert", 11 minutes) in Bethel (C4).
• Reduce Dietrich to 50% HP with a quest version of Lynn (MCC1).
• Your own team will be disabled.
• Tip: Buff Lynn's 2nd skill (Consilium) and personal skill (Protect Weapon).
• Tip: Enhanced Orb of Intensity (ATK +10%) and Enhanced Orb of Fortitude (DEF +10) will appear randomly on the floor. Pick them up to get the buff. They are mutually exclusive.
• Tip: At the start, you will be invincible for a few seconds. Run to Dietrich and use her 5th skill (Puranus).
• Tip: Thereafter, use 1st skill (Imperial Smash) since it has no casting time and fast animation time. When Lynn's HP is below 50%, run away until her HP recovers fully. Repeat until victory.

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Trigger a combat mission ("Dietrich Is Missing", 10 minutes) in Bethel (G11).
• Defeat 8 Vanguards.
• Leona and Amy will fight with you. Amy must remain alive.
• Tip: Use a tank (Sirius) to keep the enemies away from Amy and your attackers.
2. Talk to Amy in Bethel (D3).
3. Collect Bloody Vanguard Insignia (quest item) x10 by killing Great Plain Leaping Croc (10%), Great Plain Hornet (10%), Great Plain Bison (10%), Great Plain Boar (10%), or Great Plain Bear (10%) in Bethel Great Plain.
4. Talk to Amy in Bethel (D3) to give the above items.

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2).
2. Trigger a combat mission ("Machine Soldiers", 10 minutes) in Bethel Great Plain (G8).
• Defeat 100 Machine Soldier Candlers/Steamers.
• Lynn and Leona will fight with you, but Leona must remain alive.
• Tip: The monsters come in groups of 10. Use splash attacks and area skills.
• Tip: Monsters with red overlay have Blood Smell status, which increases ATK and HP Regeneration.
3. Trigger a combat mission ("An Unexpected Guest", 10 minutes) in Bernier Mansion Entrance (D6).
• Reduce Jurgen to 30% HP. Several Great Fordoi will help him.
• Dietrich, Lynn, and Leona will fight with you. Dietrich must remain alive.
• Tip: Use a tank (Sirius) to keep the enemies away from Dietrich and your attackers.

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Trigger a quest dialogue in Bernier Mansion Entrance (C6).
2. Talk to Queen Hamaan in Errac (F3).
3. Collect 1 set of Constellation Symbols: Symbol of Pisces, Symbol of Aries, Symbol of Taurus, Symbol of Gemini, Symbol of Cancer, Symbol of Leo, Symbol of Virgo, Symbol of Libra, Symbol of Scorpio, Symbol of Sagittarius, Symbol of Capricorn, and Symbol of Aquarius.
• You can get a random symbol from Constellation Indication Box, which is a roulette reward in Rank 4 missions.
4. Talk to Queen Hamaan in Errac (F3) to give her the above items.
5. Trigger a combat mission ("Rescue Dietrich", 10 minutes) in Bernier Mansion Entrance (H6).
• Survive 20 skill attacks of Dietrich.
• Tip: Dietrich has AR/DR 172 and can kill in 1-2 hits.
• Tip: Keep moving to avoid her attacks.
• Tip: You can use Sirius + Rio + Valeria. If Sirius gets hit, use Valeria's Restore skill on him.
• Tip: Alternatively, use Emilia's Protection Field skill. Dietrich also may not be able to hit flying characters.

1. Trigger a quest dialogue in Bernier Mansion Entrance (I6).
2. Kill Fire Deus Machina x200, Ice Deus Machina x200, and Lightning Deus Machina x200 in Bernier Mansion 1F.
• In v27.56.86, the amount will be rediced from 100 to 50 each.
• Note: As you kill monsters here, there is a low chance that you will be teleported to the boss room (J9).
3. Trigger a quest dialogue in Bernier Mansion 1F (F9/F10).
4. Kill Mufasa in Occulta General's Room mission (Rank 4).
5. Trigger a combat mission ("Dark Soul", 5 minutes) in Bernier Mansion 1F (F10).
• Run forward to the end of the corridor, while avoiding the undead monsters (AR/DR 167).
• Tip: You won't be able to use skills or potions, so use Principal Ampule and Hermes Potion before entering the mission.
• Tip: The monsters respond to where you click, so click on one side to lure them there, then quickly move to the other side.
• Tip: The monsters cannot hit flying characters, so you can use Emilia or Wizard to fly pass them.

Prerequisites: Completed the quest above.

1. Trigger a combat mission ("The Dice Has Been Thrown", 15 minutes) in Bernier Mansion Entrance (I7).
• Survive for 10 minutes.
• Tip: The amount of Human enemies will increase drastically. Do not attempt to fight them.
• Tip: Use a tank (Sirius). In the end, the number of enemies does not matter, because a single character can only aggravate a limited number of enemies. All the rest will just be randomly running around.
2. Trigger a combat mission ("The Herbert Sisters", 10 minutes) in Bernier Mansion Entrance (E6).
• Defeat Dietrich with a quest version of Lynn (MCC1).
• Your own team will be disabled.
• Tip: At the start, you will be invulnerable for a few seconds. Hit Dietrich with the 5th skill (Puranus) as soon as you buff up.
• Tip: Have Lynn's personal skill (Protect Weapon) and 2nd skill (Consilium) active at all times. Pick the Enhanced Orb of Intensity (ATK +10%) when it appears on the floor.
• Tip: Use hit-and-run tactics as before, except this time you need to use more skills or you will run out of time.
• Tip: Whenever Lynn's HP is below 50%, run away until her HP is full.
• Tip: Before Dietrich gets close, use Lynn's 3rd skill (Crispo) and aim it in her direction to start its long casting time. Then run away.
• Tip: Use Lynn's 4th skill (Fides) to charge pass Dietrich, then hit her with 1st skill (Imperial Smash). Then run away. If this combo gets interrupted by Dietrich's skill, run away.
• Tip: When Dietrich uses her forward-charge skill (Fairy), move out of the way. Dietrich will lag a bit after using her skill, so hit her with Lynn's 5th skill (Puranus) which has a long animation time. Then run away.

Reward: Symbol of Ursa Major x1, Symbol of Spider x1, Symbol of Lupus x1, Symbol of Phoenix x1, Symbol of Pegasus x1, Elemental Jewel x2, Expert G EXP Card x30.

1. Talk to Amy in Bethel (D3).
2. Talk to Amy in Bethel (D3) again on the next day.
3. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2). Collect one of the following items:
• Archangel's Heart x15 + Rafflesia Seed x15 + Siren's Scale x15 - Roulette reward in Castilla Mine/Relic/Tower of Chaos and Coimbra Mercenary (Hard) missions.
• Shiny Divino Horn (quest item) x5 - Kill Divino (100%) in Heaven's Altar Protection mission.
• Relic of Ancient Warrior (quest item) x1,000 - Kill Soul of Ancient Male/Female Warrior (33%) in Castilla Ruins.
• In v27.56.86, the amount will be reduced to 200.
• Note: Once chosen, the items to be collected cannot be changed.
4. Talk to Leona in Bethel (D2) to give the above items and receive reward.

This completes The Symphonia Episode 2-1 Scenario and is followed by Recruit Dietrich quests and The Symphonia Episode 2-2 Scenario.

Note: Valeron in Bethel (C3) will now trade Recipe - Elite Constellation Weapon for Symbol of Ursa Major (aka Symbol of Callisto), Symbol of Lupus (aka Symbol of Lykaon), Symbol of Spider (aka Symbol of Arachne), Symbol of Phoenix (Symbol of Bynw), and Symbol of Pegasus.
