Infinite Challenge

This mission was added in v21.53.30 . Along with Viron Clock Tower and Fury Montoro, this is one of the missions that drop Expert Enchantment Chips.

Updated roulette tables for v22.19.56.

Mission Information
Location: Bounty Hunter's Guild
Frequency: 5/day
Participants: 1
Duration: 10 minutes
Entry Cost: None
Requirement: None

The first time you do this mission, it will be Round 1. Each time you clear the mission, the round number goes up by +1. If you fail the mission, you may redo the same round until you reach the daily frequency limit (5/day).

If the mission becomes too difficult, you may choose to reset to Round 1 by paying 50 Shiny Crystals per round completed so far. For example, if you have completed 40 rounds, you may reset to Round 1 by paying 2,000 (50x40) Shiny Crystals. The reset option is available only after completing at least 10 rounds.

Mission Overview
The mission is straight-forward. Kill the boss monster. Unlike the other Bounty Hunter's Guild missions, there are no regular monsters, and you do not need to run a long distance to reach the boss.

When you enter the mission, quickly move away to avoid attracting the monster's attention, so you can buff up and equip the proper weapons after checking the monster's statistics (Alt + Left Click). This is important for maps where the boss spawns near your start point. These maps include Joaquin Barrier Siege, Inside the Crater, Novia's Parlor, and Silent Maze Sanctuary.

The monster race is random, so make sure your attackers have a set of racial weapons. At high levels, magic attackers may be better than shooting/melee attackers, since the monster's RES does not increase as fast as its DEF. If the mission gets too difficult, consider bringing along a tank (e.g. Coimbra Trooper or Sirius), especially for Round 35+. For Round 41+, success often depends on luck (i.e. boss type and bonus skills), so you may take 2-3 attempts to clear one round.

Monster Type & Race
The boss type, boss race, and map is randomly determined. There are 35 possible monster types and 16 possible mission maps.

Monster type determines its base ATK and its skills. Each boss monster has skills normally associated with its type. For example, Lava Leaf can buff itself to increase DEF or RES, similar to the Lava Leaf in Gate of Flame mission. Some boss types you need to take note of:
  • Einwind and Sekhmet can heal themselves.
  • Auto Baron, Divino, Tesla Coil, and Sphinx can inflict [Shock] status.
  • Auto Baron and Minotauros can inflict [Armor Crash] status.
  • Nephthys and Pollux can inflict [Fear] status.
Note that its race and damage type (fire, mental, physical, etc.) is still random, unaffected by boss type. For example, Nephthys is a demon in Lucifer Castle Basement, but she may be a human or even wildlife in this mission.

The monster types include:
Auto Baron
Castor
Divino
Dominator
Einwind
Fire Apostle Meteor
G.Lich
Gold Garas
Imperator Combs
Imperator Veil
Jurgen Furuhollen
Lava Leaf
Medusa
Moon Knight
Minotauros
Mufasa
Nephthys
Pollux
Portero
Queen of Ice Tempest
Queen of Valkyrie
Ray Phantom
Rhinoceur
Sabel Tiger
Sauterelle
Sekhmet
Shadow Phantom
Soltiegus
Sphinx
Tempest
Tesla Coil
Testormento
Tetra Pod
Wetis
Wrath Devil

  • Penetration +3 every level
  • Magic (Fire, Ice, etc.) Penetration +1 every 1st, 4th, and 7th level

Bonus Skills
In addition to its standard skills (based on boss type), the boss monster can also use up to 4 random skills specifically designed for Infinite Challenge. These include:
  • Lunatic Explosion! - Monster gains [Monstrous Intensify] to increase ATK Rating +3 and ATK.
  • Lunatic Mastery! - Monster gains [Monstrous Fortify] to increase DEF Rating +3 and DEF +50.
  • Lunatic Pain! - Monster gains [Monstrous Acceleration] to increase ATK Speed and Movement Speed.
  • Lunatic Despair! - Monster gains [Monstrous Meditation] to increase RES +20 and Regeneration.
  • Trap! - Creates Ice Trap, Fire Trap, and Lightning Trap (AR/DR 50), which can inflict [Freeze], [Burn], or [Shock] status.
  • Gust of Wind Summon! - Creates traps that inflict damage and knock-down.
  • Avatar Summon! - Summons lower level clones of the monster. You do not need to kill the clones. The clones are around 11-15 levels lower, and has 7-10 ATK/DEF Ratings lower.
  • Pressure! - Inflicts [Pressure] status, reducing HP by 5000 continuously (until 1 HP) and reducing ATK Rating -3, DEF Rating -3, and DEF -100.
  • Transform! - Changes the monster's race to a different one (e.g. Wildlife becomes Demon).
  • Skill Disable! - Disables skill use. Normal attacks and potion use still work. (v22.19.56)
Lunatic buffs can be removed with [Whole Cancellation] or [Dispel Magic] skill. Pressure! is particularly dangerous, especially when coupled with the monster's own abilities, such as Sphinx inflicting [Shock] status. Spam potions for the current tanking character and any other within the monster's area attack range.
