Revelations (v6.7) patch added Viron maps and several new quest lines. The first set is Raven Recruitment Quest. There are 3 other quest lines related to Viron. You may check Wordwood: Granado Espada Maps for drop rates of various quest items.

  2. Talk to Genia the Alchemist in Viron (F6) to receive a Piece of Naraka. Thereafter, you can do the repeatable quest below 1/day to get more pieces.
[Repeatable] Devil's Seal
Prerequisite: Completed The Devil's Symbol quest, have not completed Devil's Seal quest on the same day.
  1. Talk to Genia the Alchemist in Viron (F6).

  3. Talk to Genia the Alchemist in Viron (F6). By default, there is a chance that the process will fail, but you can rectify this by accepting Lionel's offer in Black & White quest (see below). If the process fails, you may receive some consolation items, such as 3 Sun Stones (1,000 feso each). If the process is successful, you will receive a Piece of Naraka.
Note: Elite Gluttony in Blood Fog Forest does not drop the quest item, but the ones that randomly spawn from the colonies inside Joaquin Barrier Siege mission will drop the quest item. The alchemist can only process once per day, so if you started the quest on Monday and have her process the collected quest items only on Tuesday, you won't be able to repeat the quest until Wednesday.

PART 4: BLACK & WHITE
This is the last quest line for Viron in v6.7. See also Byron Questline: Black Or White? for discussions on which quest to accept. Note that Recruit Leonele quests require you to complete Black & White quest, but Black (Dean) or White (Lionel) shouldn't matter.

[120] Lionel and the Militia: Lionel's Call

[120] Black & White: The Envoy of Justice
  1. Talk to Lionel in Viron (F6). His reward is that the daily Devil's Seal quest (see above) will not fail to produce Piece of Naraka. Choose We'll do it reply to confirm this quest.
  2. Talk to Genia the Alchemist in Viron (F6).
[120] Black & White: Temptation of Darkness
  1. Talk to Dean in Viron (G8). His reward is Promotion Recipe - Stance, repeatable 1/week by hunting quest items as detailed below. Choose I will meet him reply to confirm this quest. Despite what the text for Sword 2 says, choosing I'll have to think about it reply will NOT confirm this quest, and thus allow you to choose White (Lionel) instead if you wish.
  2. Talk to Farrel in Viron (C7).
  3. Collect 50 Bright Crystals (1/5) from Arctic Rufus Reapers (L110 Daemon) in Glacial Plain (aka Glacial Fortress: Forecourt, Snowfield of the Ice Wizard).

See [Quest] Byron Clock Tower for quest details.

To: Office of Pioneering Support

Athena (f/fig) reached Master Lv.8, while Tlazolteotl (Ania) reached Veteran Lv.5. Ishtar (Valeria) was finally promoted to Master Lv.1. The sad thing is that even though we took our time to slowly train her since she was recruited in Week 133, she still reached Master before getting [Innocentio] stance book from Joaquin Underground Prison. Somebody seriously need to file a complaint to Testormento. All Ishtar (Valeria) can do now is retire to the quarters and cry.

Instead of [Innocentio] stance book, what we got from Joaquin Underground Prison this week are:
  1. 3 Veteran Gloves/Boots
  2. 2 L100 Armors, Portable ASO Box
  3. L100 Weapon, Veteran Gloves, Honor B Card
  4. Honor B Card, Portable ASO Box, Marcia Poleax Recipe
  5. L100 Weapon, L92 Elite Weapon, Veteran Boots
  6. 2 Veteran Boots, L100 Armor
Athena (f/fig) is still waiting for Tormento Recipe, so she is rather annoyed at getting yet another polearm recipe again. Nothing worthwhile came out of Crow Forest and Occulta Bounty Hunt. Griffon mission dropped Elite Grim Stick Recipe, Symbol of Aries, and 2 Symbols of Capricorn. This is the first time ever that Griffon dropped 3 Constellation Boxes. We completed 2 Team Arena missions, and looted Symbol of Scorpio. Party missions dropped crap this week:
  • Mad Farm: 2 L84 Elite Armors + DR29 Armor Recipe, L100 Weapon
  • Mad Rafflesia: DR28 Armor Recipe, DR29 Armor Recipe + L100 Weapon, Shiny Crystal Chest (180)
  • Mad Sharffenberger: White Gold Bar, Archangel's Heart + L100 Weapon, Siren's Scale Recipe
  • Mad Uraeus: White Gold Bar, L84 Elite Armor + 2 DR29 Armor Recipes
  • Mad Griffon: DR28 Armor Recipe, DR29 Armor Recipe + DR28 Armor Recipe, Archangel's Heart Recipe
We traded a Silver Earring for a Gold Earring, and finally crafted Magic Earring. We processed 3 sets of Pieces of Naraka, ending up with 2 Symbols of Naraka and 1 Elemental Jewel. We also purchased 2 $20 ESN Codes (1,600 G1 Credits = 19,500 Gold) for a total of 1 billion vis. Unfortunately, only 2 days later, there was Last Days of Summer promotion with free Rose Wings. There are 7 disconnections this week.

Wind of First Costume Set
Body Costume + Hair • Claire
Previously released in Treasure Shooting 1 (Japan).

[SG] Duration Rumins
Meanwhile, IAHGames has released duration rumins (aka jewels) for body/weapon costumes. See [Cash Shop] Duration Rumins. Each duration rumin costs 1,000 G-Points. (For comparison, Mystery Powder costs 220 G-Points.) I don't get why the article calls these "prototype items" though. Some regional editions (e.g. Japan) already have such duration rumins given as part of those web games (e.g. Imperial Wheel). I suppose they are just trying to test how much players are willing to pay for more virtual items. As the game progresses, it involves more and more "pay-to-win" gaming.

Update: These rumins are actually for weapons and armors, unlike other duration rumins (which are usable only on body/weapon costumes). So I guess this makes them "prototype items".

Imperial Wheel V (Japan) has been updated for August 2011. Other notable rewards include Anemone Costume Set (Calyce), Black Buffalo Costume Set (Selva), The Secret of Aquichtus Costume (dagger), The Inexorability of Ventuamos Costume (sabre), Fate of Castilla (DR31 metal armor), Angel Revolver (AR33 pistol), and [Punisher] Stance Book. The new items are listed below. Click on the image for full-size view.

Revelations (v6.7) patch added several extended quests for various characters. These quests are about Adelina meeting the father of the crew she murdered in her Adelina's Revenge quest and her attempt to bring the orphan to Viron. You must have Adelina (not Adelina the Pirate) in the team to initiate all NPC dialogs. You do not need to bring Adelina along for hunting items. You can check the drop rates of quest items at Wordwood: Granado Espada Maps.

[100] Atonement of the Past
Requirements: Completed Adelina's Revenge quest.
Reward: 1 Veteran Polish.
Details: Oswalts asks about his son Bardi, who was a crew on Adelina's ship - Dos Palas. Bardi apparently had great respect for Adelina, but the latter previously killed him in her quest for revenge. Adelina feels somewhat remorseful, and Ricardo recommends looking for Bardi's son in Sea Elephant Cafe.
  1. Talk to Oswalts in Viron (H11).
  2. Talk to Captain Ricardo in Coimbra.

[100] Bardi's Son
Reward: 1 Veteran Polish (per delivery), 1 Veteran B EXP Card (per delivery), 1 Otite Perfume (Event).
Details: Lisa refuses to tell Adelina the location of "Uncle" Bardi's son, Tora. Adelina refuses to ask for forgiveness, but wants to take him to Oswalts. Lisa asks Adelina to work for her.
  1. Talk to Lisa in Coimbra.
  2. Talk to Lisa again. She will request 20-25 units of a specific item. The item changes every day, regardless of whether you deliver the item to her or not. You may repeat this delivery sub-quest once per day. Keep delivering items to her until her friendliness reaches 500. This usually takes about 20 deliveries. Known items include:
    • Golden Egg Fruit (aka Golden Corn), dropped by Golden Egg Millet in Ustiur Farm
    • Cabosse, dropped by various imp mobs in Tetra Ruins, Rio Albi, and Lago Celeste
    • Food of Capybara (aka Capybara Potato), dropped by various Capybara mobs in Abertal and Capybara Plantation
    • Philosopher Stone (aka Metamorphosis Stone), dropped by assorted mobs in Katovic Snowfield and Frozen Wastes
    • Ice Crystal, dropped by assorted mobs in Katovic Snowfield and Frozen Wastes
    • Ebony Tree, dropped by Eltetah in Katovic Snowfield and Frozen Wastes
    • Beet, dropped by Arctic Dandelion Gorilla in Frozen Wastes
    • Wolf's Fur, dropped by Arctic Wolf in Katovic Snowfield
  3. Talk to Lisa again after her friendliness reaches 500.

[100] Baron Village
Details: Lisa reveals Tora has gone to Los Toldos for training to become a baron. Johnny wants to recover a watch from a traitor in exchange for the information.
  1. Activate the Otite Perfume from Lisa under Premium Item - Misc window (Ctrl-F) and talk to Mamons in Porto Bello Deserted Quay (E3).
  2. Talk to Johnny the Gunman in Los Toldos (I7).

[100] Traitor Wahlansche
Reward: 1 Veteran Polish.
Details: Johnny has sent Tora away because he is too young. The boy has gone to Viron to find the legendary baron, Oswalts.
  1. Collect 1 Pocket Watch by killing Wahlansche (L46 Undead) in Porto Bello Deserted Quay. The boss also appears in Mission: Highway Lv.2.
  2. Talk to Johnny the Gunman in Los Toldos (I7).

[125] Legendary Baron Oswalts
Reward: 8 Veteran Polish.
Details: Oswalts finally realizes that his son has been killed by Adelina. She refuses to apologize. Realizing Bardi must have hurt Adelina immensely, Oswalts asks Adelina to forgive Bardi and says he will take care of Tora.

  1. Talk to Oswalts in Viron (H11).

The story will continue in Lisa's Extended Quests (v8.5). See also other extended quests (v6.7) for Angie, Alejandro, Karjalain, and M'Boma.

New Le Pouvoir armors have been added to Cash Shop for 18,000-20,000 G-Points, depending on armor type. (For comparison, 1 Mystery Powder costs 220 G-Points, so each armor costs about 81 or 91 Mystery Powders.) They are basically Le Blanc (DR27) that has been updated to +7 and enchanted with DEF and DEF Rating +3 with 3 opened sockets. They last for 30 days. Supposedly, they are meant for new players to use before they acquire Elite Le Blanc (DR30). See [Cash Shop] Le Pouvoir Armour for details.

Personally, I think they are too expensive for a temporary item. Using Le Blanc (DR27) as a base item is pointless even for new players. L92 Elite Armors (DR28) are really cheap, and can be easily upgraded/enchanted. Even Le Noir (DR29) isn't worth much now. It would be more useful and worthwhile if they use Le Noir (DR29) as a base item, and add 2 or 3 HQ Spodumenes. After all, it vanishes after 30 days. Who is going to put expensive Jewels/Rumins into them?

This comment pretty much sums it all up:

lol you don't get it. What we are saying is, for players willing to 'pay to win' there are much better things to spend their gp on. - von Utteresk [Source]

Update: Le Pouvoir armors are available in Sword 2 cash shop for 3,000 Gold each from Sep 07 to Oct 04, 2011. (For comparison, 20 Mystery Powders cost 300 Gold. So 1 armor costs the same as 200 Mystery Powders.) See Le Pouvoir Armors for more information.

[PPL/HCOF] Casino Updates
Panfilo's Pot Luck has been updated for Aug 19 to Sep 01, 2011. Hellena's Circus of Fate has also been updated. Basically, there are Angel Weapons (AR33) and more costumes, as well as 7-days Rumin for costume slots. It is just more gambling, really. I don't even feel like making this post originally, but I suppose I should at least mention Le Pouvoir. If you give a crap about it, see [PPL] Update 3 Opened! and [HCOF] Angel Weapons and New Costumes! for details.

To: Office of Pioneering Support

There wasn't much character advancement in Granado Espada this week, as the family continues to explore other lands. After bribing her with assorted goods for a few weeks, Angelica (Adelina) finally managed to persuade Lisa to reveal the whereabouts of Bardi's son. It appears the poor kid has gone to Los Toldos.

However, we managed to do a few runs of Occulta Bounty Hunt, Torsche's Basement, Joaquin Underground Prison, and Crow Forest. As usual, there were lots of crappy Honor Cards and Portable ASO Boxes. One crappy day yielded 4 Honor B Cards, 2 Portable ASO Boxes, and 2 L100 Weapons from various roulette chests. Paying 2m-4m vis for an extra roulette item only to get Portable ASO Box always makes us feel like we are being scammed. But there was at least 1 good drop this week - Magic Earrings Recipe from Joaquin Underground Prison, so it somewhat made up for all the crap. There are still some missing materials, so we will craft it at a later date. Griffon mission dropped Symbol of Gemini, Le Noir (wiz), and Elite Ziz Bracelet Recipe.

We also joined in the party missions, and brought an alternate/mule family along for extra freebies.
  • Mad Farm: 2 L84 Elite Armors + L84 Elite Armor, White Gold Bar
  • Mad Rafflesia: 2 L84 Elite Armors + HQ Sapphire, L100 Armor
  • Mad Sharffenberger: L100 Weapon, DR29 Armor Recipe + DR29 Armor Recipe, L100 Armor
  • Mad Uraeus: Shiny Crystal Chest, L84 Elite Armor + L84 Elite Armor, L100 Weapon
  • Mad Griffon: Dragon Heart Recipe, L100 Weapon + L84 Elite Armor, DR29 Armor Recipe
  • Party Arena: Honor B Card, Honor A Card
IMC really needs to remove those L84 Elite Equipment from the drop tables... Because getting Honor Cards from regular raid missions wasn't enough, the party missions have to give more of them. The family still has 343,702 reputation points, even with the expenditure for bounty hunts. Stop giving us Honor Cards, for goodness' sake! But finally, we got our first Dragon Heart Recipe from party missions after everybody else seems to be flooded with them.

Anyway, we heard rumors of an event where free Cat Hairbands (previously mentioned in Cat Hat & Cat Bands) are given away to pioneers for... behaving like a cat apparently, but we weren't around to witness the event. See LOLCATS Weekend - Promotion & Events for more details.

There is a new forum write-up on magic characters. See 속성 마법 캐릭터! 그 숨겨진 베일을 벗다!. I'm not going to translate the whole thing, but I will point out the 3 elemental specialists.

Ludin's Fire
Ludin, the fire specialist, was already introduced, along with her unique [Efreet] stance. See also 2011 Summer Update Preview. See also [YouTube] Granado Espada Ludin Expert Stance or embedded video below. More Korean articles about Ludin are available - Ludin & Efreet and Ludin Recruitment Quest.

Inon's Ice
Inon Oannes has been renamed as Inon Felipe, becoming the son of Archduke Felipe. His story is still linked to Marquis Hernan and Catherine Torsche. See also 2011 Summer Update Preview 2.

Beatrice's Lightning
The new lightning specialist is now shown as part of character design event. See 나는 디자이너다 for the event. Her tentative name is Beatrice (left). There are also 2 other new characters - Lionel (middle) and Vincent (right). (No, not the rifle + pistol guy, and not Vincent Rio.)

There are a few other Korean forum articles that you may want to check out on your own.

Pet Box (Cockatrice) has been added to Sword 2 cash shop for 3,500 Gold, along with 2 new boxes for 250 Gold each. See Quinzel's and Raiden's VIII. Cockatries Pet for the official notice.

Quinzel's Surprise VIII includes Dragon Heart Recipe, Symbol of Leo, La Fleur Ecarlate Costume (f/ele), Cattleya Hair (Helena), Blackness Rose Costume (m/wiz), and Blaue Spiel Costume (Rio). Note that Helena gets only her hair (but not costume), while elementalist gets her costume (but not hair).

Raiden's Box of Rage VIII includes Dragon's Eye Bracelet (L100 AR30 elemental bracelet), Symbol of Libra, and Crystal Shotgun (L92 AR30 shotgun).

Revelations (v6.7) patch added several extended side quests for various characters. It must be a revelation for players to find that Alejandro used to be a young stud with lots of girls after him. This quest is about Alejandro's attempt to rebuild his ship. You must have Alejandro in the team to initiate all NPC dialogs. You do not need to bring Alejandro along for collecting items. You can check the drop rates of items at Wordwood: Granado Espada Maps.

[100-110] Let's Make the Pequod

  1. Talk to Durum in Viron (G10).
  2. Collect 1,000 High Quality Wood and 10 Ebony Trees. HQ Wood drops in Ustiur and Viron forest maps, and can be bought from Textile Merchant in Coimbra for 53,000 vis. Ebony Trees are dropped by Eltetah (L108 Life) in Katovic Snowfield and Frozen Wastes.
  3. Talk to Durum in Viron for 2 Veteran Polish and 1 Veteran B (1.4m) EXP Card.
  4. Collect 50 Dragon Leathers from various dinosaurs in Ustiur zones.
  5. Talk to Durum in Viron for 2 Veteran Polish and 1 Veteran B (1.4m) EXP Card.
  6. Collect 50 Black Steels from Arctic Rufus Reapers (L110 Daemon) in Glacial Plain (aka Snowfield of the Ice Wizard, Glacial Fortress: Forecourt).
  7. Talk to Durum in Viron for 2 Veteran Polish and 1 Veteran B (1.4m) EXP Card.
  8. Collect 100 Pebbles from Moving/Spiked Rocks (L101 Undead... yes, rocks are undead) in Abertal or from Electric Tin Mines in Capybara Mine Passage.
  9. Talk to Durum in Viron for 2 Veteran Polish and 1 Veteran B (1.4m) EXP Card.
  10. Talk to Wharf Manager in Viron (E9). You can now access the ship to reach Reboldeaux, Coimbra, Auch, Ustiur Base Camp, New Opoluto (aka Bahama Base Camp), and Gigante Port. You can also do trading with Vespanola or Granado Espada merchants 1/day.
For Sword 2, the text for mercantile trade is currently bugged, so basically you won't know what item is actually required. See also Extended Quests (v6.7) for Adelina, Angie, Karjalain, and M'Boma.

To: Office of Pioneering Support

The family did a few raid missions whenever possible this week. It seems like the more missions we missed, the more we feel like missing them. Griffon mission dropped Elite Le Blanc (fig) Recipe and Symbol of Libra. Joaquin Underground Prison yielded Elite Le Blanc (sco) Recipe, and Eisheth (Crazy Emilia) reached Master Lv.2 inside the mission. Everything else was crap as usual. We even get 2 Honor B Cards + 1 crap item for Joaquin mission 3 times in a row.

We participated in our first party missions and received the following as the roulette rewards:
  • Mad Farm: 2 L84 Elite Armors
  • Mad Griffon: White Gold Bar, L92 Elite Armor Recipe
  • Mad Rafflesia: L96 Elite Armor Recipe, L100 Armor
  • Mad Uraeus: Le Scarce (mus), Symbol of Leo
  • Mad Sharffenberger: White Gold Bar, L100 Weapon
Seriously, White Gold Bars? Series of Honor Cards? The prospect of the New World is becoming rather dim. As such, we have reduced our activities in Granado Espada to explore the land of Lagendia instead. While it is not within the office's jurisdiction, we are pleased to present one of our fascinating achievements there - [Cloth Chaser] title! How come Granado Espada doesn't have this kind of medals?

Angelica (Adelina) continued to slave herself for Lisa, reaching 357/500 friendship points. We have experienced 9 disconnections this week, despite being relatively less active.

You must have Karjalain in the team to initiate all NPC dialogs. You do not need to bring Karjalain along for hunting quest items. You can check the drop rates of quest items at Wordwood: Granado Espada Maps.

The following historical timeline was translated from GE 編年史. Some additional details are taken from elsewhere (see related links below).

1483 - The country of Opoluto was in economic recession, due to its trade with Katai being cut off by Targa, which opposed the nations of Orpesia. The noble explorer Ferruccio Espada, and his assistant Gilberto Granado, sought out a new oceanic trade route across the Dark Sea to the West.

1488 - Out of the 12 ships set forth from Opoluto, only the ship of Ferruccio Espada and his assistant Gilberto Granado reached the New World safely. To commemorate their discovery, the New World was named Granado Espada. Gilberto Granado, a commoner by birth, was elevated to the ranks of nobility.

1490 - The second expedition of Ferruccio Espada proved that the New World was uninhabited. Opoluto began massive development of the New World. Porto Bello was built as the first port in the New World. The rich commoners of Opoluto, with the help of the government, began to migrate.

1491 - The country of Nasr, long supported by Targa, was conquered by Vespanola. With that conquest, Illier lost its last foothold in Orpesia, forcing them to sign a peace treaty with Vespanola.

1492 - Ferruccio Expedition discovered Porto Bello Desolate Cliff. After facing powerful monsters, they realized that the New World is full of dangers.

1495 - Porto Bello was unable to cope with the rising influx of new settlers. Construction work began on a new port, Port of Coimbra.

1498 - Explorers discovered Cathari Falls.

1508 - Opoluto over-extended its fundings to develop the New World. Before it can reap the fruits of its labor, Opoluto faced the threat of bankruptcy. Vespanola cleared the debts in return for annexing all of Opoluto’s holdings in Orpesia and Granado Espada. To curb the opposition of Opoluto citizens, Vespanola appointed Ferruccio Espada as the First Governor of the New World. The people of Vespanola began to migrate to the New World.

1513 - The first stage construction of Port of Coimbra was completed.

1517 - King Julio V of Vespanola died, and was succeeded by Prince Enrique and Princess Anna.

1521 - Princess Esperanza of Vespanola was born. To commemorate the birth of the princess and the pioneering efforts of the New World, the immigrants began to build the city of Reboldeaux.

1525 - In order to link Port of Coimbra with Reboldeaux, Ferruccio Junction was being laid with roads. As more people settled in the New World, Vespanola formed New World Order Control Committee (NOCC), which began to oppose the governance of Ferruccio Espada. The discovery of Tetra Ruins suggested that the New World was once inhabited.

1529 - Under the orders of NOCC, pioneers began to excavate Tetra Ruins. Although the declared objectives were to verify the existence of natives and uncover the secrets of Tetra Ruins, most pioneers were just looking for hidden treasures and riches.

1530 - Following the tragedy of 4.3, excavation of Tetra Ruins ceased. The collapse of the catacombs killed many explorers. The few who survived died from monster attacks in the Grand Corridor. During this time, Henry Finan formed the Rescue Knights, which quickly won the support of the settlers.

1532 - King Enrique I of Vespanola died. Queen Anna withdrew from politics to spend her life at her husband’s grave. The government fell into the hands of the nobles.

1534 - To avoid the exactions of Reboldeaux and its soldiers, some settlers took the risk to expand their explorations, building the City of Auch. Pirates began to raid the coasts off Porto Bello. Governor Ferruccio Espada led his forces to stop the pirates.

1536 - Queen Esperanza ascended to the throne of Vespanola. Work began on the second stage of construction for Port of Coimbra. The development of Ferruccio Junction ceased due to monster attacks. Ferruccio Espada defeated the pirates of Porto Bello. The construction of Reboldeaux was completed. The development site of City of Auch was nearly destroyed by monsters. Grenmah saved the site.

1537 - The power struggle between Ferruccio Espada and NOCC continued to escalate. Ferruccio Espada discovered Katovic Snowfield, and began the construction of Ferruccio Wall. During the construction, Gilberto Granado died.

1538 - Grenmah was invited by Queen Esperanza back to the homeland. NOCC applied for permit to build Prison de Joaquin for holding political prisoners of Vespanola. Auch began to develop into an industrial city.

1539 - Unnatural forces in Porto Bello began to accumulate shipwrecks. Ferruccio Espada died, leaving behind “Multi multa, nemo omnia novit”. Rumors began to spread that his death was caused by NOCC.

1540 - The Three-Year War began between Bristia and Vespanola. The supplies from Vespanola to the New World ceased, halting all pioneering efforts. Taking advantage of the homeland’s disregard for the New World, NOCC head quarters was attacked.

1541 - NOCC disbanded, and Prison de Joaquin was abandoned and forgotten. Illier joined the war as Vespanola’s ally.

1543 - The Naval Battle of Baleares commerced. Vespanola’s Red Navy miraculously defeated the more powerful Bristia’s fleet. The Three-Year War ended with Vespanola’s victory.

1544 - In order to deal with the social problems caused by the War Nobles in Vespanola, Queen Esperanza announced the Reconquista Policy, sending them over to the New World. To replace NOCC, Reboldeaux region was governed by Sir Lyndon, while Port of Coimbra was governed by Nunez. To commemorate the victory of war, Illier commissioned the Ferruccio Statue.

1545 - Queen Esperanza ordered the development of Al Quelt Moreza. In order to open the roads, Ferruccio Statue was situated at Ferruccio Junction.

1548 - Bishop Dios Latem was executed on charges of high treason. The construction of Al Quelt Moreza ceased, along with the work on Ferruccio Statue.

1551 - Explorers discovered Ustiur, and were disturbed by the dinosaurs. Grenmah was appointed leader of the exploration, and the Rescue Knights were sent to Ustiur.

We are pleased to report that we have made some progress in investigating Viron. We received a summon by Lorch concerning some news about Viscount Montoro. After taking Ortega's letter from Lorch, we returned to Viron and presented it to Lionel, who apparently belonged to one of the noble families as well. According to Lionel, Fe Lomme Castle was built in 1300s and is now managed by a butler in his 30s named Raven. We ventured to Red Sunset Forest and was ambushed by a red-haired female warrior. She fled when Raven joined the fight. Maybe she is mute, since every time she shows up, all she ever says is "....".

The butler then admitted that Montoro is his master and revealed some interesting titbits about him. Montoro is apparently 50 years old and is the right-hand man of Marquis Hernandez. He is also the owner of Glacial Fortress (aka Ice Wizard's Tower) and the lover of Novia, who herself is also one of the Ten Nobles. Raven was a Bristian military spy who came to Viron after the Three-Years War. He was then captured by Montoro and cursed to do his bidding. His authenticity was verified by Garcia, who was also a Bristian officer.

According to Raven, Le Fomme Castle was acquired by Marquis Hernandez and then given to Montoro about 10 years ago. The castle was also known as Lucifer Castle about 200 years ago. Montoro is currently inside the castle, researching on the stolen Elemental Otite. Previously, Montoro stole the Elemental Otite, while Jorgen Fruholen distracted us. Dr. Torsche revealed that Jorgen's transformation cannot be reversed by Holy Water because he was protected by Stone Gas, another of the Five Elements.

In any case, we approached the alchemist Beronif, who suspected the Restraint Curse was placed by Hernandez himself. After acquiring some items from monsters in the forests outside Viron, Beronif made the Seal Ointment, which can seal the curse pattern for an hour after activation. After applying it on Raven, he joined our family and requested a journey to Crow Forest to enter Lucifer Castle. We decided to give him a new alias, so he is now named Willikins (Raven) after the Ramkin family's butler who proved to be an exceptional fighter in Discworld novels.

As a result of various activities, Thelandira (f/mus) reached Master Lv.7 in the forests of Viron. Anatasia (Rescue Knight) and Asclepius (Soho) reached Lv.100 while helping Angie to collect quest items for Yeganeh. Angelica (Adelina) also reached Veteran Lv.5, while killing assorted bears to prepare Karjalain for a rematch with the "White Pervert". The funny thing is we didn't even bring Karjalain along for the "training", and she still thinks she is ready after that. Meanwhile, Mirajane (Lisa) bought herself a cheap Colchicum Costume.

Raids went rather poorly this week. Griffon mission dropped only rubbish, i.e. Symbol of Taurus. This is barely worth the trouble involved in hunting for Griffon Egg Shells. We completed 6 Team Arena missions, and looted Symbol of Taurus and 2 Symbols of Sagittarius. Again, rubbish. So far, the best drops from Occulta Bounty Hunts are Elite Rescue Suit and Elite La Ventisca. Other loots are mostly Expert Tokens. The best loot out of Joaquin Underground Prison is Qualified Earring. It also yielded 1 pathetic Portable ASO Box after paying 5m vis for the bonus loot. So overall, loot is still crap.

We joined the new Halcyon clan, just to see how things go for a while. Since our return after 2 weeks away from Granado Espada, the family has been having a bit of trouble finding people to do some raid missions. A few of the former raiders have left or become more inactive, as they have taken up exploring another land called Lagendia. Those who remained appear to have a different time zone/schedule, so it is something we will have to think about. The family was busy during the weekend, so we missed out on the party missions again.

Overall, the New World is getting boring, and has been slowly getting boring for a while. Story development crawls forward by only an inch with each new patch. (And this is what we are mostly interested in.) The bulk of new content is usually new characters, maps, and raids. That amounts to passive leveling (slow), active leveling (boring), raids (repetitive routine), costumes (mere cosmetics), or crafting new weapon series (cash trap or huge vis drain). Now, IMC even has to recycle poses/animations for new stances like [Blitz Assault] and [Wanted Shot]. Already, [Sect of Moonlight] animations are completely recycled.

There are 6 disconnections this week, once inside Occulta Bounty Hunt mission.

Hanbiton (Korea) has released a new update preview - 업데이트 미리보기 - 2011년 여름 업데이트. As usual, materials from update previews may be subject to changes before official release.

1. Evil Weapons
Dr. Torsche's study of the device found in Lucifer Castle's gardens have yielded results. Evil Weapons have been added. These weapons have ATK Rating 34, and cannot be traded or refined into weapon crystals. They seem to be some sort of prototypes for Strata Devil Weapons, having the same available enchantments. The quest involved Dr. Torsche, Time Crystal, and Viron Clock Tower. There are 8 missions which can attempted 1/day, giving roulette rewards which may drop the required crystals. They also drop materials required to craft Strata Devil equipment.

2. Quests: Oswalts, Lisa, & Adelina
Adelina's Viron quest got extended further. Talk to Oswalts in Viron again with Adelina (not Adelina the Pirate) to initiate quest. Previously, Adelina killed Bardi in her quest to avenge her dead husband and child, telling Bardi's son that she will wait for him if he wants revenge. After meeting Oswalts (Bardi's father) in Viron, she returned for Bardi's son and had to be Lisa's delivery services daily. At the end, Oswalts' quest is completed. The 2nd part now involves Lisa.

It seems Adelina now turns the table on Lisa, so it is another run of earning 500 friendship points, involving things like L88 Enchantment Chips. Lisa then will have to make her way to Lucifer Castle, followed by meeting with Oswalts. From there, the quest for [Blitz Assault] stance book begins. She will go to Lucifer Castle from Crow Forest and fight Grandies, the red-haired fighter. After being defeated, return to Oswalts for her confession of weakness.

3. Blitz Assault
Lisa gets a new Expert dual-dagger stance - [Blitz Assault], which requires [Raid Assault] as a prerequisite. It has 4 attacks per cycle, and has a buff skill that improves Evasion against shooting attacks. It also has some form of counter-attack. For PVP, it is mainly for use against soft and light armors.

4. Wanted Shot
Garcia and Brunie gets a new Expert pistol stance - [Wanted Shot]. It requires Symbol of Cancer. It has an automatic passive buff which kicks in to increase damage, possibly similar to [Gorgeous] stance's Counterstrike.

Sword 2 has added new items to Cash Shop, including Status Ampule Package (Str/Dex/Con/etc. +3 for 1 hour = 1,000 Gold), Intensified Strength Potion (AM Boost, HP +1500, SP +100 for 10 hours = 350 Gold), and 2 new boxes mentioned below (250 Gold). There is also Pet Box (Capyleader) for 3,500 Gold. Capybara Pet loots items and increases Combat/Stance/Drop Rate by +10%. The other 2 pets with the same function - Cockatrice and Phobitan Imp - will be released later.

Quinzel's Surprise VII includes Dragon Heart Recipe, Symbol of Sagittarius, Blue Serpent Costume (f/wiz), Lavender Hat (Selva), Schwarseiz Costume (Romina), and Koronian Thanatos Costume (m/sco).

Raiden's Box of Rage VII includes Dragon's Fury Rifle (L100 AR32 rifle), Symbol of Taurus, and Elemental Bracelet (L92 AR29 LOE bracelet).

Feso Shop has also been updated with Shiny Key (330 feso), Lollipops (2,000 feso), and more portable ammo boxes. See Maintenance Change Log for details.

Revelations (v6.7) patch introduced alchemy in Viron, which can transmute "useless" items into potentially valuable items like Dragon Heart and Symbol of Naraka. See [v6.7 Feature] Alchemy for a list of possible drops, and Alchemical Materials for a list of ingredients available in v6.7.

The following test was done with three Grade 3 alchemical ingredients, then upgraded by adding more vis. The total rank is thus 10 (3+3+3+1), costing 198,000 vis. This was done 116 times at a total cost of 22,968,000 vis. The results are as follows:

I got 1 Symbol of Naraka out of 116 refinements. The most common drop was 10 Hermes Potions (25/116), followed by 3 HQ Gems (20/116) and 3 Rough Stones (19/116).

Revelations (v6.7) patch added several extended quests for various characters. See [v6.7 Feature] RNPC Quest Extensions. This post details M'Boma's fight against racial prejudice. All NPC dialogs require M'Boma to be in the party to initiate. You do not need to bring M'Boma along for hunting quest items in field maps.
